Swim Lessons

Reagan has had 2 lessons now and loves them. She absolutely loves going to the pool and quickly fell in love with her swim instructor, Jessica.

Day 1: They learned to start to put their faces in the water and blow bubbles along with kicking their feet. The other 2 kiddos in the class are about a year older and area already quite comfortable in going underwater while Reagan is not. We're hoping that will push her a bit to catch up. She also had a bit of a bathing suit malfunction which led us to realize she doesn't really own any practical suits.

Day 2: We have a new suit or 2 and are ready. They continued to work on putting their faces in the water and learned about making big arms to swim with. Reagan also reached down on the bottom step to get a ring which caused her whole head to come out of water and she didn't freak out. Maybe we're getting somewhere!

June..................

If you're expecting to see a lot of pictures you have come to the wrong place. We have not taken one.single.picture this month! Seriously. We've been so busy yet not busy all at the same time. It's a little strange yet nice. Have no fear July is already looking crazy!  We have certainly enjoyed it.

Reagan is out of school for the summer. It's been an adjustment. The girls have watched a lot of movies. I don't believe I have ever seen Cinderella so many times! They play very well together. There is a lot of running around, giggling and of course screaming - they are little girls after all. They are fun to watch.

Reagan has turned into a big girl overnight. We have a very easy time with giving up the pacifier last month. We had one bad night and that was it. We have had a few nights though of her just showing up in the middle of the night in bed. After one night of letting her get in and sleep she is now being escorted back upstairs. She is a very restless sleeper. We decided the first week of June that we would take Reagan to pick out some big girl panties and buy a few treats as rewards. She was really excited about the panties. We talked it up and tried it out the following weekend. We have several accidents but with the accidents came some success. The past 2 weeks we have been really impressed with her progress. Since we work upstairs during the day where there is carpet she is still in pull-ups but she has actually been initiating going to the potty which was our problem. She will now just go on her own. We have had very few accidents so things are looking hopeful.

Abby has been teething all month long. It's been delightful! Other then what I am sure is a constant throbbing in her mouth she is a pretty happy baby. She's definitely feisty and is the leader of the 2. She can practically make Reagan do anything. She's all over the place. She's also into electronics. She can easily unlock a cell phone and can get into all sorts of trouble. She will also start to play on the computer as soon as you turn your back and is constantly trying to send a fax. She likes to get a laugh out of people and is purposely silly to do so. Quite a ham. And what a little dancer! She has been known to dance to Reagan singing and really gets down when there is music on. And she adores Ring Around the Rosie. She's growing. While she turned 16 months in June she is finally in 6-12 month clothes. She's mischievous and I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world.

This month we hit the pool/splash pad with the Stanard family and the girls had a great time. After that we decided that we had to move forward this summer with getting our passes for our pool and splash pad in our neighborhood. We finally did last weekend and the girls had a great time. I noticed an ad for swim lessons and took a brochure. After looking at the information online on Sunday I saw that there was a group class starting this week and figured it couldn't hurt to ask if there was an opening and there was! We got a great deal as I was trying to sign her up for a group class and they moved her into a semi-private class for the same rate so there will only be 3 kids in the class which I love. Plus instead of just doing the Level 1 class they will also be including Level 2 as well. She starts tomorrow and we are all excited. The class is going to end just days before we leave for our lake vacation so the timing couldn't have been better. Not to worry, we will actually take a few pics.

We've also had family movie night all month long. Every Saturday we've made dinner and set up in front of the tv and watched a movie together. Sometimes even making popcorn. So far we've watched G-Force, Up, The Princess and the Frog, & Jungle Book. We plan to take Reagan to see Toy Story 3 at some point as her first move in the theater. She's been really excited about the previews and loves to watch Toy Story 2.

Dad's training for a sprint triathlon. You can follow his progress here. I think for those that haven't seen him in a bit you would be shocked as he had dropped a massive amount of weight and had a lot of muscle. We're very proud of him and know that he is going to do a fantastic job.

Well, that's June so far. We have swim lessons for the rest of the month, Reagan's 3yr check up and we need to start getting ready to be out of town for a week shortly.

Memorial Day Weekend

Since April & May were so crazy with birthdays we wanted to keep Memorial Day weekend pretty laid back with nothing specific to do.

Although we did decide to kick off the weekend at the Zoo to see the new Dinosaur exhibit with the Stanard Family. The girls were not too into the Dinosaur exhibit and hid their eyes most of the time but of course the rest of the zoo they enjoyed!

We also hung out in the backyard and played with the water table which the girls love.

And we even had a picnic at a park!

Dad & Reagan finally got a chance to break out the softball equipment:

These girls love to be outside!

Oliver's Birthday

Just the day after Reagan's birthday party, on her actual birthday, we got to attend Oliver's 1st Birthday Party. It was held at Gymboree which we had not been to. Sure, we've spent lots of money in their clothing store but the fun part? Nah.

Happy 1st Birthday Oliver!

The kids had a fantastic time. There was so much to do and see.
