Reagan's First Day of "School"

Today was Reagan's first day of "school" (Mothers Day Out). She will be attending M-TH from 9-2 and F from 9-12. We have been talking about it for awhile now. She has had her backpack, lunch box, and nap mat for some time and we have been playing with all three. She was really excited to go this morning.

L - Reagan with her loot.
R - She heard a bird "tweet tweet"

L - Ready to go Mom
R - "I'm Reagan"

Little Girl Growing Up!

When I dropped Reagan off this morning I chose to walk her in instead of dropping her off out front since it was her first day. As soon as she set foot in the classroom she was gone. I asked her if she wanted to say good-bye to me or Abby and we got a quick wave and a short "Bye". Was anyone really worried she was going to have issues?

When she got home we learned from a note from her teacher all the things that we did that day. The one I keep thinking about is that they said the pledge. How funny to think of a bunch of 2-3 year olds doing the pledge. It's fantastic. We practiced putting the right hand over our heart this evening. Reagan apparently opted not to take a nap at school which was not surprising at all and worked out fine as she could take a nap when she got home.

Applesauce

So we all know that the oatmeal didn't go so well. We tried it twice and then layed off the foods for a bit. So now we are going to be going full force with the foods. We have started with apples or applesauce as it turns out. Just like with Reagan we will be making Abby's food. It's a little time consuming but worth it in the end. So we bought apples and made a big batch of applesauce. As you can see this little one just isn't really interested in the food though the second night was better.

Abby's 6 month stats

Oh my little bits................

weight - 14lbs 2oz - 10%
height - 24in - 3-10%

Oh and like Reagan she has a big head. Thanks Dad. She's higher then the 3% she previously was. Dr is happy with her stats. She's still in 0-3 month clothes comfortably. She's a tiny thing. She took her first shot like a champ and then got a bit pissy with the 3rd & 4th, Reagan again was upset that she didn't get a shot. Silly girl. We'll start trying to push the real food more next week.

Avery's 2nd Birthday Party

We went to Miss Avery's birthday on Saturday at Pump It Up.

Avery (L) with her Mom(Harmony) and Dad(Kerry) and their niece.

We had never been before. I was a little concerned because Reagan has been in a bounce house a few times and has never really shown any interest. I had no idea there would be slides there. Let's just say Reagan had a blast and Dad got in quite the workout chasing her!

Reagan-ese

Current favorite phrases:

"What happened?"
"What's wrong?"
"Good Job Mommy" - After singing songs with Reagan
"Good Job Baby" - After singing Patty Cake which is apparently for Abby
"Where's Dap?" - Asked in the mornings he goes into work
"I toot" - I'm pretty sure you don't need an explanation for this
"I burp"
"I sneeze"
"Oh no, I poop" Can you tell she's into bodily functions?

And clothes.........it all started with Mom having a bad day on Friday and putting Reagan in a leotard for fun. That ended with Reagan insisting on wearing a tutu for 24 hours. Yes, she slept in it.

Real Food for Abby - Take 1

BEWARE - BABY WITH FOOD ON HER FACE BELOW

So we're not quite at 6 months but I have never seen a baby so ready for food in my life and Dad agreed so we picked up some oatmeal. She has been getting angry if you don't share your food or drink with her and we thought maybe as a bonus it would help with sleeping at night. Hey, one can wish. Well, it didn't quite go as planned and not nearly as easy as it was with Reagan.

First time sitting in the highchair.

First bite.

Pushed it all out.

She did attempt a few more bites but they all ended like this.

Trying to wipe it off her mouth!

We did the first attempt on Sunday so we'll give it another go perhaps tomorrow.

Zoo - Take 3

We went to the zoo again on Saturday morning. Wasn't too too hot. Abby even stayed in the stroller half the time - progress!

Our week in pictures..........

Tuesday....................

Reagan got a hold of a sharpie when Dad ran downstairs to make lunch.

Thursday..............
Our tv died. We are currently set up with a little tv on a folding table in front of the old one. We did go out and buy a tv on Saturday but it will not be arriving for a week.

Friday..............

Mom left a candle burning in a jar on the counter. It's been done a million times before but this time was a little different. It's now nicely burnt and bubbled. Unfortunately we were not looking to replace the counters in this house but will now be looking for a sale at Home Depot.

Add these to the computer & refrigerator in the garage that we've already replaced this year and by the end of the year we'll also have a new tv, a painted gameroom and new counters. Only 5 more months to go................
