Se was SO excited and really did a good job. I think Reagan likes to be on a team and is a bit of a people pleaser. Reagan's team is called Salt Lake and is mostly made up of girls. While everyone was showing up and getting their jersey's the kids just played with their parents with the balls on the field. Then practice started. Reagan did very well at following the directions. About 20 minutes after they practiced they played a game! Reagan got to start and played the first 2 quarters. During her playtime she was congratulated by one of the coaches for a good block! She got quite upset when she was not allowed to play the 3rd quarter. She actually ran onto the field and they had to stop the game. So we learned the things that we need to work on with her:
1. Explain to her that she doesn't get to play the whole game.
2. Help her understand that when someone takes the ball away from her it is ok and not to stand and yell "Hey" and pout on the field.
3. Make sure she knows where her goal is. She almost kicked one into the wrong goal. Luckily when another kid almost did it the coaches blew the whistle and stopped it from happening.
I was amazed by the number of kids that would not play or get involved without their parents being right there. many kids threw a fit and didn't want to play, some were sitting on the sidelines sucking their thumbs and one girl even hid under a blanket! And now what you really want, pictures:
