Kemah Boardwalk

Since Dad's triathlon was in Kemah on a Sunday morning we decided to make a weekend of it and spend the day at the Kemah Boardwalk on Saturday and stay the night. We got down to Kemah and checked in and then headed over to the boardwalk.

Abby was a little afraid of the shark

Reagan thought it was cool.

We decided to have lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. We let Abby sit in a booster instead of a highchair which she fell out of. I looked at my menu and heard a boom and then saw her laying on the floor flat on her back. Naturally she let out a huge scream. Needless to say she was perfectly fine but scared the hell out of the manager at the restaurant. After that we had a rather uneventful lunch though have now learned the lesson that the booster HAS to be attached to the seat.

After lunch we headed over to the rides where we had promised Reagan that we could ride 1 and she had to pick. I think we were both a little surprised with her choice:

Were were able to ride all together which was great so we were able to capture the looks on both of the girls faces:

It was an awesome choice! Reagan wants to ride the roller coaster which I happily told her I would do when she reaches the high limit.

Next they got the choice to play one game. They chose one where they could pull a duck out of the pond and on the bottom of the duck it stated whether it was a small, medium, or large prize. Of course they both got small prizes which was A OK with us!

Next we took a little break from the Boardwalk and went over to check Dad's bike in. With a promise of ice cream and the Aquarium when we got back the girls went along with it. When we got back we headed over to a little ice cream shop that served Blue Bell and let the girls pick out  their ice cream.

Reagan chose Crazy Colors and that it was. It turned out to just be vanilla but it was blue, yellow & red!
Abby picked Strawberry as usual.

Then we headed over to the Aquarium to see the Sting Rays:

We got to feed shrimp to the stingrays and touch them. It was really neat.

Abby was talking to a turtle.

We checked out the boats:

And then we headed to dinner at Red for some sushi.

We very rarely get to have sushi with the girls but they had a great kids menu. They peanut butter sandwiches cut into circles like sushi with grape jelly on the side to dip in and grilled cheese sandwiches cut in circles that came with a tomato soup to dip in. Sadly without a nap Abby was way passed the idea of eating dinner but Reagan thought it was great. We'll have to remember this idea for home!

After dinner we had planned ahead and put the girls pajamas in the car so we could let them play in the little water feature in their clothes on the boardwalk. They thought this was so cool. It was a very nice evening and not too crowded plus they had a band playing.

Abby started shivering and we knew it was time to go. We headed back to the hotel to get Dad all ready for the next morning and get everyone to bed. We were all in bed with the lights out and tv off by 9pm! It was going to be a busy and early morning.

That looks like so much fun! I was just telling Kyle a few weeks ago that I wanted to go spend a weekend in Kemah-thanks for the incentive!
